But, this book was different.
About a year ago, I read Becky Wade's Her One and Only. That, too, was an extremely long book. But, I ate up every word and found myself wanting more and more and more. Even after I had read the last page, I still wanted more of the story.
Since I had such a great experience with the last Becky Wade book that I read, I decided to give this one a go.
And, I do not regret my decision.
As with Her One and Only, I couldn't get enough of this book. At first, it was slow getting started. But, once I hit the action (and by action, I mean messed-up love story) I couldn't put this book down. The quirky personality of main character Nora Bradford and her complete adoration for the rough around the edges John Lawson. The hunt for a person, and the unfolding a terrible past.
This book packed every not-expected punch you could imagine.
And, sometimes it broke your heart (and the characters' hearts).
But, there's always a silver lining.
And the silver lining to True to You is one of the most beautiful and heartwarming things my eyeballs have ever read.
This book should be on every summer reading list.
